Norman LeRoy Chapman was born to Ed and Ethel Chapman on Mya 16 1926 in Chilliwack BC.
He grew on on the family farm in Rosedale BC with his sisters Noami and Vashti
On June 16 1949 he married Muriel Joy Snowden in Hope BC. they were married 60 years when Joy paased away in July 11 2009. Together they raised 10 children, Jeannie, Lloyd (deceased), Charlotte, Norma, Ruth, Ellen, Andy, Patti, Raydene, and Dan. In 1979 Linda Gault James came to live with the family as a sister. There are today 15 grandcildren and 12 great-great children. Grandchildren were very important to him, he said they were what made having kids worthwhile.
Norm ran a dairy farm that was part of the homestead of his grandfather John Chapman and remained active untill his heart attack on July 2 2011. He was involved in the farming community most of his life and member of the Fraser Milk Producers for a number of years.
He was acitive member of the Chilliwack Seventh-Day Adventist Church, supporting and helping out in projects for the church.
He was an avid reader and had just finished reading the books about the life of Ben Carson just in the past 10 days before his attack
